Communication training

Communication training with the Diversity Icebreaker

Communication lies at the heart of the Diversity Icebreaker, making the tool ideal for communication training. People interpret and express information differently, and by understanding these differences, we can communicate more effectively and with greater understanding.

Origins in communication insight

The Diversity Icebreaker was originally developed through a creative marketing campaign analysing how different people perceive information. This insight formed the basis for the three colours—Red, Blue and Green—communication styles that help individuals better understand themselves and others.

Practical applications

The colour model is used in group exercises (with similar or mixed preferences), in personal development (e.g., role-play), and in organisational communication strategies.

What participants gain

  • Greater awareness of their own and others’ styles
  • Increased flexibility when encountering differences
  • A shared, positive language that simplifies communication—even on difficult topics

Impact

The result is improved collaboration, clearer dialogue, and a more inclusive organisational culture.
