Subgroups
An extension of the standard group profile
In some cases, it is useful to gather participants from different teams, projects, or departments in the same Diversity Icebreaker (DI) seminar. The DI seminar is particularly well suited for this purpose, as it builds trust, creates a positive atmosphere, and helps people get to know each other across different environments and cultures.
Subgroup profiles can be viewed under a separate tab within the group profile. See an example of a subgroup below:

A standard group profile with one combined group is always included when ordering the online version of the questionnaire. The standard profile provides an overall picture of everyone who has completed the questionnaire — for example, an entire organization.
If you choose the subgroup option, participants will receive an additional introductory question asking which group they belong to. This allows you to generate not only one combined profile for all respondents, but also a separate profile for each subgroup.
The subgroup solution can display results for up to 50 subgroups (maximum), in addition to the overall group. All subgroup names can be customized according to your preferences.
Applications
Subgroup profiles can be used for follow-up work after the DI seminar. For example, you may ask participants to reflect on their strengths, dominant tendencies, or how they might compensate for the colour preferences they scored lower on.
Often, team subgroups are small enough that their profiles can also be used to discuss “distance” and “closeness” between members — for instance, in terms of communication styles.
Teams and project groups can compare their own profile with the overall group:
“Is our colour profile representative or not? What might the differences mean for us and for the organization?”
Subgroup profiles can also be shared in plenary, enabling the entire organization to explore similarities and differences between teams, departments, or project groups.
“What do these profiles mean for our processes and for improving communication between units?"
