For over 20 years, the Diversity Icebreaker (DI) has been an effective tool in leadership development programs, helping to create environments characterized by trust, openness, and learning.

Psychologist, MBA, and the developer of Diversity Icebreaker® (DI). Bjørn is among Norway's most experienced consultants in collaboration, team development, and cross-cultural communication. Over the past 30 years, he has delivered over 1,000 assignments in more than 20 countries.

 

Bjørn has contributed to several of the world’s top educational institutions in his field of research and teaching. In 2019, he published Unleashing the Power of Diversity: How to Open Minds for Good, describing how DI fosters a common language and trust across teams and organizations.

 

Bjørn Z. has worked as a leader in consultation organizations since 1987 besides leading different projects and organizations in civil society. He is educated in management (MBA, London, 1997) and in international governance (Agder, 2007). He has been teaching leadership programs at different business schools (like Norwegian School of Management and IMD) and in multiple corporate leadership programs.

 

He is also the co-editor of the 2023 volume in the International Leadership Association series Building Leadership Bridges: Inclusive Leadership: Equity and Belonging in Our Communities. In this book, he wrote the chapter An Inclusive Language of Diversity on the metaphorical model Red, Blue, and Green.
